Philippine Azkals team manager Dan Palami said the Philippine men’s football team would adapt the conditioning method of pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao.
“I’m impressed with the training of Pacquiao. We need that kind of training. If we can adapt it, we’ll be successful,” said Palami.
Palami told the Manila Times that the goal is to make the players stronger and faster before they take on the Sri Lankan team in the first leg of the World Cup qualifying games on June 29 in Colombo Sri Lanka.
For his part, Azkals German mentor Hans Michael Weiss, said he will send the players through strength and endurance drills to prepare them for the level of play in international matches.
If the Azkals beat Sri Lanka, they will face Kuwait in the second round. The team still has to pass four more qualifiers to get a berth in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Source
