PFF looks at a 30-man football pool to compete in SEA Games

The Philippine Football Federation is looking at a 30-man national training pool for the selection of athletes who will compete in the Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia this November.

PFF secretary general Chito Manuel Tuesday said most of the recruits for the biennial meet will come from the ongoing PFF Suzuki Under-23 National Cup, whose scheduled semifinal matches are on May 15 to 16 in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.

Elimination matches pitting NCR-A against Laguna, Iloilo against Davao, Dipolog versus NCR-B, and Masbate over Bacolod are ongoing at presstime.

The Bacolod crew, who has six points on two victories, advanced into the semis.

“The PFF currently has a short list of athletes who have potentials of making it into the SEAGbound team,” said Manuel during the weekly PSA Forum in Shakey’s UN Avenue. (K. Satumbaga) Source
